WhatsApp and Signal Team Alum Balachandar Karthikeyan is an Industry Trailblazer

Balachandar Karthikeyan, after having introduced a slew of new features to WhatsApp, including video calling, status messages, and on-platform payments, is now undertaking his own pursuit of establishing his own app company with Bringar Apps and its new release, WhatsAuto-Reply.

The industry rising star, 28, has previously served on the teams at WhatsApp and Signal to make key contributions in tech as well as providing guidance in marketing their respective platforms overseas. “I have a very very good friend and colleague who lives in Erode, in Tamil Nadu and I talk to him every day. He's telling me what's going on, it helps me understand sort of what the Indian market is like,” Brian Acton, co-founder of WhatsApp and Signal, has said about Balachandar’s contribution to the brands.

Hot in the press as “The Indian Behind Whatsapp,” Balachandar is now making strong headway as founder and CEO of Bringar Research & Development Pvt. Ltd. in India, and Bringar Apps LLC. in Dubai. Having developed WhatsAuto-Reply through Bringar, Balachandar conducts business between three countries.

As for his education, Balachandar has made his success without the help of a lush educational background. “I am completely self-taught as a tech professional,” Balachandar says. “I became a part of the WhatsApp team just off of the merit of my own independent education. When Brian called me with the intention of working together, that threw my career in a complete upswing.”

Having served as a crucial part of the team at WhatsApp, Balachandar’s mentor and friend Brian Acton brought him into his new venture, Signal. “It was never a debate on whether I would follow Brian, I was already determined to continue our partnership,” Balachandar says. “So when he asked, it was an immediate yes.”

As WhatsApp had begun waning in popularity due to changing policies that were unfavorable to many users, Signal variably has gathered an exceptional following worldwide. Gaining a greater understanding of the market, Balachandar decided to create his own app in a separate vein from his previous work.

“WhatsAuto-Reply adds a more revolutionary aspect than most platforms. ,” Balachandar says. “Utilizing WhatsAuto-Reply as one of the most effective chatbot apps for both business and personal use, I want to bring this depth of communication to a business setting and flesh out that consumer base more effectively.”
