As Kowalski v. Johns Hopkins is Halted Indefinitely, Documentary “Take Care of Maya” Gets Release Date

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida – The case of Kowalski v. Johns Hopkins has been halted indefinitely by the presiding judge. The case is currently being examined as the primary subject of an upcoming documentary, Take Care of Maya. Expected to be released in 2023, the documentary prominently features attorney representing the Kowalskis, Gregory Andrew Anderson.

Florida-based author and trial attorney Gregory Andrew Anderson holds vast experience in the American legal system, both prosecuting and defending on behalf of his clients to assure the most favorable verdict/plea. As part of the law firm AndersonGlenn LLP, Anderson’s victories across sectors of law have afforded him an understanding of the system that is unparalleled.

The book and documentary will be out in 2023.

Gregory A. Anderson is a Legal Top Dog

Gregory A. Anderson has practiced law for almost four full decades. Holding Board Certifications in Civil Trial Practice since 1991 and Business Litigation since 1996, Anderson served in over a hundred civil jury trials in courts of general jurisdiction across 9 states. Applying experience in law, business, and client relations, AndersonGlenn LLP is proud to have accomplished clients across industries. In pursuing litigation against a corporation, private healthcare provider, or other business, a defense counsel surpassing your opponents’ is a key avenue to victory, and AndersonGlenn LLP has been around for almost 40 years and consistently strives to provide an impassioned representation.

“There’s a handful of great trial lawyers out there that win tens of millions – even hundreds of million dollars,” Anderson explains. “But they all accomplish this under a particular set of circumstances. They win with a home-court advantage, a judge they know, and an area of law they are precisely qualified to practice. That is not what I do. I step into the harshest forums. I take on difficult cases with presiding judges that don’t know me at all against their most favored attorneys and I still win.” Favoring a challenge, Gregory A. Anderson strives to offer a focused and even, yet relentless legal approach.

Take Care of Maya in Production

Anderson is featured in Take Care of Maya, a documentary and new book about the case of Maya Kowalski that is due in early-to-mid next year. Securing coauthorship with New York Times Bestseller, James Defelice, author of American Sniper, the book details the Kowalski family’s issues with medical staff, leading to allegations of abuse and invasion of privacy that have received national attention.

Maya Kowalski – who suffers from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a neurological disorder that typically causes chronic pain or sensitivity after an injury or impact to a limb – was subjected to the alleged abuse, harassment, and critical skepticism from medical professionals as her condition was questioned. Maya’s family also suffered emotional turmoil as they were investigated due to a false diagnosis of Munchausen by proxy.

As well as representing the Kowalskis in their suit against Johns Hopkins, Anderson assisted when the Kowalskis sued All Children’s, DCF, Suncoast, Smith, and Bedy in October 2018, leading a judge to determine that there was sufficient evidence for punitive damages to be awarded for the charges of battery and false imprisonment. Early this year, Smith and Suncoast settled their portion of the lawsuit for $2.5 million. The case against All Children’s and Bedy continues, but in March, on the eve of jury selection, a judge delayed Kowalski v. Johns Hopkins indefinitely.
