For Chef Deepak Ballaney of International Wings Factory, A.K.A “The Wings Guy”, The American Dream is something that he believes in very strongly. After coming to America from Mumbai, India, Deepak was originally a graduate of science, with a rich background in the luxury hotel group and fine dining industry. The time spent within this industry made Deepak value the practice of hospitality, which remains at his core as he continues to grow the International Wings Factory brand. He brings a certain level of luxury to a recipe that is more commonly seen as street-food. 

When Deepak first came to America, finding a home in New York City, the community inspired him to build his business there, in the city that never sleeps. This dream was so close to becoming a reality for the chef, and so to further his skills, Deepak took a two year sabbatical to attend culinary school. Even though this brought Ballaney further into the culinary world and helped establish a deeper education, the cost of the school pushed the chef back a bit in his entrepreneurial timeline.

To gain an insight on the latest updates in the restaurant business, Deepak went back into consulting for other restaurants, keeping a foot in the industry as he worked to make more money to build his own business. After working hard to rebuild his savings, Deepak took a leap of faith and launched his business and brand, the International Wings Factory. Now, after the long journey, Deepak is affectionately referred to as “The Wings Guy.”

The American Dream is a concept that requires this leap of faith. It is a belief in the power of the individual to shape their future and overcome any obstacles. In Deepak’s case, the time spent away from the industry while in school and the lack of funds could have held him back, but he didn’t let those things get in the way. By the power of hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude, The Wings Guy has brought about success and happiness for himself and his family.
