Heather “The Hurricane” Corrigan: Taking the Real Estate Market by Storm

With intense fury and strong gusts, Heather Corrigan entered real estate five years ago and hasn’t slowed down since. The New Jerseyan was born with innate leadership qualities and a powerful essence to which she credits her success.

“People started calling me The Hurricane from an early age,” says Corrigan. “I was always quick and efficient.”

A natural-born saleswoman, Corrigan’s professional journey began when she landed her first job at Century 21 department store as a buyer during her senior year at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). She snuck in through the back of a fashion show on campus to present them her resume. Eventually, she networked with industry professionals and moved on to a Sales Representative position with Samsonite Luggage, and then became Associate Publisher of TravelWare Magazine.

“I love media, but I knew I was destined for more than luggage, so I became VP of Sales for GOGORILLA Media,” says Corrigan. “I sold cool Gorilla marketing products all over the country to the largest ad agencies all over the world.”

In 2017, Corrigan got her real estate license and her rise to the top came quickly. As a REALTOR for Re/Max Signature Homes in Closter, NJ, she earned Bronze level in her first year with $6 million in sales. In year two, she improved to Silver level with $7.5 million. Boosting her momentum, in year three, she reached Gold level with $12.4 million in sales. Currently, Corrigan boasts lifetime sales just shy of $53 million and a multitude of awards, including The Kunverter Award, The Maximizer Award, Top Agent Award, The Humanitarian Award, and the Remax Hustle Award. She holds SRS (Seller Representative Specialist), ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), and SFR (Short Sale & Foreclosure Representative) designations. 

“I am officially in year five of real estate and only two years into doing just advertising and will have over $60,000,000 in sales and over 400 units,” says Corrigan. “Helping make peoples’ dreams come true is what The Hurricane does.”

On the side, Corrigan acts, models, and performs stand-up comedy. She also runs a party planning business and is a Girl Scouts leader, a Cheer Mom, and is running for local office seats. She was awarded the Hinani award from her temple. 

Additionally, Corrigan is the President of the growing LeTip Chapter of Fairlawn, New Jersey, a professional organization of men and women dedicated to the highest standards of competence and service with a mission to exchange business tips. Corrigan's relationships within the group elevate her power and the value she is able to give her clients.

As for the future of real estate, Corrigan believes the market is returning to normal. She continues, “this is a good thing! Now is the time to look for a home. Just a few months ago there were major bidding wars and people were paying way over the asking price. Now buyers have some negotiating power. People always need to sell homes and people are always buying so it is always a great time to do some real estate transactions.”

Corrigan points out that, “entrepreneurs and new small business owners shouldn’t be afraid to jump right in.” “Make phone calls, knock on doors, go on appointments, and do open houses. Do whatever it takes to get your name out there and the business will come.”
