TULUM, Mexico– Kaaba Luum, an eco-luxury lodge residing in residential Aldea Coral, is on the first of several phases of its development. With over 500 acres of protected jungle, the property is eco-friendly, offering sustainable services such as biodigesters in order to avoid pollution production. The developers have been working closely with traditional and indigenous materials, providing four villas, built on 400 square meters of land each, with the intention of featuring little to no outside noise and light pollution. Each villa currently on-site includes 2 bedrooms, 2 queen sofa pullouts (for a combined total of four beds), 3 full baths, kitchen and living space with a private terrace and private pool.

With regard to maintaining their interest in keeping everything locally sourced and natural, the property was built by native Mayans, using traditional materials of the region such as Mayan stone and palapa thatch roofing.

“Kaaba Luum” in the native Mayan language translates to “Earth’s Origin”, which closely mirrors the company’s narrative, as they hope to unify the land and its community in a way that allows for potential visitors to experience the natural beauty of the Mayan jungles. More than 150 different species of exotic animals make this community their home, such as toucans, deer, monkeys and an array of colorful butterflies. Aldea Coral is surrounded by indigenous flora and fauna, as well as rivers, caves, jungles that carve the landscape into naturally forming cenotes (natural wells, formed by the collapse of surface limestone that exposes groundwater underneath).

“Our mission” states Nicole Trumbo, on behalf of Kaaba Luum, “is to pay homage to our past, connect to the vision of our future, and hold our community tight in the delight of the present moment. Our goal is to create experiences that foster joy, creativity, and a deep connection to oneself and community.”

With the completion of phase one underway, the property includes amenities such as a private event space which can be utilized for corporate getaways, music events, yoga retreats, and the like. Kaaba Luum will offer standard resort practices, including room service, shuttle service, and a concierge. Additionally, in sticking to their desire to maintain Mayan influence, Kaaba Luum will hold Temescal ceremonies, offer sound healing classes, and copal burning meditations on-site.

The resort also offers off-site activities for travelers including, but not limited to a Mayan ruin tour, visitations to monkey sanctuaries, and private cenote bookings. In order to stand out as a resort that offers a wide variety of adventure, in addition to its luxury, Kaaba Luum incorporates its Mayan influence into everything that they offer.

With the development of Tulum’s local airport, expected to be complete in 2023 and closely located to the city of Muyil (Chunyaxche), this upcoming resort destination will see a rise in tourism and is working to become a talked-about travel destination in the competitive marketplace of luxury resorts and lodging in Mexico. As the company expands, completing forthcoming phases of its development, Kaaba Luum will maintain its native influences.

Kaaba Luum is an eco-friendly luxury property located in Tulum, Mexico. It was built on only 15% of the total surface area of its property, leaving 85% of the local wildlife untouched in the process of its development. With an expectation of building a completely ecological lodge, the company still has more to come in regards to what it will have to offer travelers.

Upcoming developments for Kaaba Luum, which will be seen in the next phases of their growth include a restaurant and a café. For more information about upcoming developments in Kaaba Luum’s future, check out their Instagram @KaabaLuum. See their website for additional details.
