ATLANTA, Georgia—Ibiza Bar and Lounge is closing out 2022 with several upcoming events, all hosted on-site. The venue, having first launched in 2016 as a nightclub for private events and parties in downtown Duluth, Georgia, currently has a Facebook check-in value of nearly 42,000 and a 4.2 star ratings on Google with over 1000 reviews. 

Founder and CEO, Nafeel Ahmed’s 10 years of experience in marketing and branding has pushed the production and development of Ibiza Bar into the competitive nightlife in Atlanta. In 2020, while coronavirus cases were on the rise, Ibiza Bar, much like the rest of the restaurant industry, reported record lows of income and loss of clientele. 

“We, as a business, survived by placing safety precautions for our patrons.” Nafeel says, when asked how they managed to make it through the pandemic without shutting down. Ibiza Bar continues to maintain the state established food safety protocols and follows CDC advised COVID-19 recommendations and guidelines. With strict handwashing and sanitizing protocols in place, the company has not reported a rise in staffing COVID cases since their remodel. 

After their five-year anniversary, the company undertook a massive renovation and remodeling project that they started in 2020. The demolition of the original lounge costed close to a million dollars and lasted a year, reaching completion in June 2021. The newly refurbished website offers information about reservations and upcoming events hosted at the venue. 

The restaurant maintains a strictly enforced dress code. Athletic gear and apparel, shorts, torn or cutoff clothing, sandals, and athletic shoes, are on the list of clothing prohibited from the nightclub. Ibiza Bar and Lounge allows customers, ages 21 and over, to reserve VIP tables and private booths, in addition to serving a variety of food, drink, and hookah flavors.

“Atlanta is the melting pot of diversity here in Georgia,” says Nafeel, “but we want to bring this type of diversity all over the United States.” Ibiza Bar draws its inspiration directly from its namesake: Ibiza, Spain, an island located in the Mediterranean Sea. The food and cocktails served mirror the flavors and palates of what one would find while overseas. The lounge also hosts events that bring the traditional flavors and styles of Spain to their dancefloor and kitchen. By hosting their weekly Latin Friday, and International Saturday events, this company works to keep its influences authentic. 

“Success is peace of mind,” Nafeel explains. “[Peace of mind] is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of being.” With The aspiring entrepreneur also owns a boat & jet ski rental company along with an online marketing social media management company that he uses to further his business. “Entrepreneurship is turning your passion into profit.” 

This company maintains a steady stream of events as 2022 comes to an end. Some such events include a “Scorpio Bash” a “Friendsgiving” night, as well as their six-year anniversary in mid-November. 

Ibiza Bar also runs several charity events throughout the year, including a food drive that benefits local homeless shelters during November, as well as a toy drive that takes place close to Christmas, benefiting Atlanta’s Children Center. Their New Year’s celebration at the venue also doubles as a charity event, where proceeds from the nightclub go toward local homeless relief foundations.

As Atlanta nightlife recovers from the hit taken throughout the pandemic, Ibiza Bar and Lounge continues to make the necessary changes to maintain CDC safety guidelines.
