After completing his bachelor of engineering from India in 2007 and his Master of Science in Computer Science from New York University in 2011, Pratik Daga, a tech leader for Asana, started off working for companies like Morgan Stanley, and LinkedIn. Now, with his team at Asana, a company dedicated to project management platforms, Daga maintains more than 11 years of IT experience and a strong software engineering foundation. 

“I am well versed in data structures, algorithms and databases, and various software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall,” Daga explains. “I can easily understand software development processes, coding standards, and testing and quality assurance; I am also familiar with cybersecurity principles and practices, including access control, authentication, encryption, and network security.”

Due to over a decade of experience in various companies and tech leadership roles, this tech mogul is familiar with commercial, economic, legal, ethical, and process aspects of software development that includes:

• Team Management:

Daga is currently leading a team of software engineers with Asana. Leading includes setting performance goals, providing feedback and coaching, and creating a positive and productive work environment. His leadership skills have made him an invaluable member of the team, and have driven him forward in every aspect of his career.

• Information Security:

Being familiar with security principles and practices, including authentication and access control, encryption, secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and incident response, is one of the biggest foundational requirements for anyone in Daga’s position. 

• Risk Management:

“I can identify and assess IT risks and implement strategies to manage them,” he goes on to say. This includes understanding risk management frameworks, developing risk management plans, and monitoring and reporting on risk mitigation activities.

• Compliance:

For most tech leads and communications experts, it is vital to understand legal and regulatory compliance requirements, such as data protection laws, privacy regulations, and industry-specific standards. Daga has been in the IT business for years, giving him the know how and experience in these requirements

• Project Management:

The time spent with each business has made Pratik into a man with strong project management skills, including the ability to plan and execute complex IT projects, manage budgets and resources, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
