Dr. Sahil Gupta Continues to Make Fertility Services Affordable Through OMA

SAN JOSE, California – Oma Robotics, a robotics company based out of silicon valley in California, has started using some of its proprietary AI and Robotics technology to automate processes for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. Co-founder, Dr. Sahil Gupta, has been critical in Oma Robotics’ rapid expansion in the US market. Dr. Gupta had previously opened fertility clinics in several countries. One of the most well-known of these is his Aveya chain of fertility clinics in India.  By combining AI and robotics in the lab and human-centered care, Oma Robotics’ fertility arm will make parenthood possible at a more affordable price. 

What is OMA Fertility?

Oma Fertility is the new fertility division of Oma Robotics. It was founded in 2020 by a team of top-notch engineers and AI experts. Oma was first conceived when founder Gurjeet Singh heard the story of an acquaintance who had gone through IVF. Singh was astonished to discover that the couple endured six cycles of IVF without success, paying $45K for each cycle, and eventually filing for bankruptcy. After learning how expensive and difficult the traditional IVF process was, Singh decided to make his own IVF company that could offer IVF services that were significantly more effective and affordable. 

To help him realize this vision, Singh brought on Dr. Sahil Gupta and Kiran Joshi as co-founders.  Singh included these experts in the venture because of their respective experience and expertise in the fertility services industry, and because of Dr. Gupta’s prior success with his pioneering business model. 

The company's first innovation that has taken IVF to the next level, is Oma Sperm InSight™, which uses AI to help pinpoint the most promising sperm cell for use in IVF. Offering services like egg freezing, frozen embryo transfer, and donor egg IVF, the clinic stays with the patient through every step of the process and maintains consistent and clear communication. Oma Fertility opened its first fertility clinic in Santa Barbara, California in 2021 and has plans to continue expansion nationally throughout the next few years.

About Dr. Sahil Gupta

Dr. Sahil Gupta is one of the co-founders and the Chief Commercial Officer of Oma Robotics and Oma Fertility. He is a physician by training and specializes in fertility. Aveya, Gupta’s chain of eight clinics in India and Nepal, does 6,000 IVF cycles per year. Dr. Gupta is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and has completed the school’s General Management Program. He also earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Safdarjung Hospital in India.
