Private Conglomerate, Khawar and Sons, Plans to Overhaul the Trucking Industry, Develop Holistic City, Produce International Films

Brothers Zain Farooqi and Shayan Farooqi are Pakistani immigrants who have grown Khawar and Sons, a Houston, Texas-based private conglomerate of family-owned businesses, into a multimillion-dollar entity with divisions in real estate, dining, energy, entertainment, and technology. Today they are announcing the launch of their new brand, Now & Forever.

At the request of their father, Zain and Shayan took over a failing mom and pop store and worked tirelessly to run a struggling two-pump convenience store in Texas. This location, better known as Coastal Mart, now a flagship high-volume location, was featured in the Houston Chronicle in 2005 as having the lowest fuel prices in Texas. That year the brothers were also an integral part of the local community’s evacuation efforts, providing gasoline during the catastrophic hurricane Katrina, ensuring that every last member of the community made it out safely before closing doors and evacuating themselves. Khawar & Sons now considers this location its initial superstar.

The Farooqis moved forward, acquiring and refurbishing new gas station and truck stop locations in their native Houston, while diversifying their assets by entering the construction and software industries. Now they are bringing these sites under a single brand, Now & Forever. The new name is a promise of being open and ready Now & Forever for their community 24-hours a day, 365 days a year and being ready to provide new fuels such as electricity and hydrogen as the world transitions to more sustainable transportation. Their expanding chain of convenience stores, truck stops, and travel centers now has multiple operational locations across the US.

In the next five years the Farooqis intend that the Now & Forever brand will be recognized internationally, as they work to facilitate trucking becoming more energy and cost-efficient, all while supporting the family lives of their employees and creating sustainable communities.

Now & Forever

Khawar and Sons reveals its long-term expansion strategy, calling for an overhaul of the trucking & drayage industry under its Now & Forever brand. The goals of this expansion strategy are to improve the trucking industry, protect drivers, and have a demonstrable positive environmental impact. The company intends to achieve this by creating evergreen fueling stations, which are committed to sustainably supplying energy and fuel, as well as implementing a new business model that makes truck related shipping more effective and enables drivers to spend each evening with their families at home. The brand is also focused on seeking and working with companies that are “going green”. Khawar and Sons will execute initiatives to rebuild the trucking workforce by providing attractive perks for drivers and their families in the form of housing communities and other inducements. Ultimately, Khawar and Sons plans to implement twelve Now & Forever business units that will work in conjunction to wholly reinvent the trucking industry.

Holistic City Development

Khawar and Sons also announces that it is currently developing, in conjunction with its subsidiaries and affiliates, 673 acres of land on Interstate 10 west of Houston in Sealy, Texas. Plans for the new development include building a holistic town that aims to support the local economy and population. The company is building the world's largest travel center and truck stop servicing both passenger vehicles and semi-trucks. In addition to traditional fuels and renewable diesel, super-fast electric car and truck chargers will service traffic traveling via Interstate 10 under the Now & Forever brand. The new town will feature single and multi-family housing, in addition to the a hotel, shopping centers, an RV park, and Houston’s first indoor waterpark. Khawar and Sons is developing over 1000 acres of raw land across Texas, creating thousands of jobs that will supercharge local economies.

Film and Entertainment

Zashko Films, founded in 2016 by Khawar Farooqi, is an American film and television production company focused on creating international content. Currently, the company is in marketing release phase of its thriller comedy movie titled “Money Back Guarantee.” MBG an Urdu language movie starring some of the biggest names in the Pakistani film industry. It is set for worldwide theatrical release in April 2023.. Zashko also has multiple other titles in production and post-production including Be Someone (series), the Wrong One (series), Mandi (series), Head Mein Kachra (film), Double Barrel (film), and more.

About Shayan Farooqi

Shayan Farooqi is a self-made entrepreneur who has taken multiple start-ups to success. He has been venturing into the online business world since his early teens. Shayan has successfully started, owned and operated over 100 retail businesses across the United States. He’s been heavily involved in electronic payment systems, e-commerce outlets, ATM routes, and IoT service businesses and has made multimillion-dollar exits from his many startups.
